This is a credit assessed facility whereby you can pay for the cost of your surgery over however long a period of time you need. However, most people try and pay as much as they can in the 12 months as during this time there is 0% interest. Many are grateful for the opportunity of vasectomy reversal finance.

We Provide 12 Months Interest Free Credit

When Should I Apply For Finance?

This is entirely up to you. If you have an alternative means to pay for the surgery in full, then perhaps you can consider booking your surgery and then applying for the BMI Payment Plan Card.

If you need to have the card to enable the surgery to take place, then we would recommend that you apply for this sooner before you book in. Once your application has been successful, then you can book in knowing that the balance can be paid for by the finance. You need to remember that the deposit cannot be paid for using this method, you will need to pay the £500 required by debit card or credit card.

What Is “Finance” Exactly?

If this is the first time that you have considered using finance or credit to fund something, then it can be confusing. Basically, through completing the application form and submitting it, you are seeking a loan from the hospital to pay for the bulk of the cost of your operation. Once you have the surgery, then you pay back the hospital.

Is there a minimum payment?

Every month, you will need to pay £25 or 5% of the outstanding balance. So for example, if you have used your card to pay for £2000 of the vasectomy reversal cost, then you would need to pay £100 for the first month. After your non-refundable deposit of £500 is made at the point of booking, you may wish to take advantage of the 12 months of interest free credit for vasectomy reversal finance. If you paid the remaining amount (£2897 minus the £500 deposit leaving £2397 to pay), then you would only have to pay 12 payments of approximately £199.75.

How is the interest calculated?

Many people want to take advantage of the our vasectomy reversal finance as they can spread the cost without additional costs. After the first 12 months of 0% interest, you will then have a low rate of 0.79% of interest applied every month. This works out at 9.9% APR a year. So, as an example, for every £100 this equals 79p.

Do I have to be having surgery to apply?

No, anyone can apply for the card and pay for anyone else’s surgery. So in reality this means that a relative or your partner could apply for the card to pay for the vasectomy reversal. We advise that the person with the better credit rating applies for the card to maximise your chances of being successful. Occasionally, we have people saying that they already have a card that they applied for, for different surgery and they ask if it is ok to use it again. The answer is yes, this is fine.

Can I use finance and other methods to pay?

Yes, we have people paying for their operation in any manner of combinations. Some use savings and the 0% finance. Others have taken out the finance knowing that they have some money coming their way (e.g. tax rebate or from the sale of a property) and so the finance bridges the gap between enabling the procedure to take place at a time that is convenient and paying off the bulk of the surgery at a later date but within a year.

Is it credit assessed?

Yes it is, but it depends upon what your credit rating is as to whether you will be successful in obtaining a card. The agency that is used is Call Credit and there is a free credit checker that you can use called Noddle- click here to access. If you obtain 540 points or above, you should be accepted for a BMI Card but it may not be for the full amount. If you obtain 560 points or above, there is a very good chance that you will receive all the money for the vasectomy reversal.

N.B. After credit rating, the number one reason that people fail to obtain credit is that they apply from an address where they are not on the electoral role. If there is any doubt, please double check that you can vote (and are registered at your current address) before applying for BMI Credit.
